What do we do when we encounter darkness (lower vibrational frequency)?

There is a paradox being wrestled with right now. Some matters are not so simple for many who have had spiritual awakenings. If your extra sensory perceptions come online, or you consciousness expands certain truths become evident. The world we’ve been residing in is pretty complex. Things get turned upside down. Things we once trusted, we no longer do. We don’t know who we can safely discuss things with this new perspective at first. Who will understand us?

We now see the status quo has been even less acceptable than how we previously understood it. There is much to be astonished by and grateful for on the spiritual side. While on the physical side our societies have less than setup humanity for success. Knowing what we know now, society could do so much more to achieve harmonious balance and wellbeing (far beyond the current designs). We are up to the challenges of course. It’s completely doable. The hurdles are barely there now when we see through the illusions that stopped us previously.

Now let’s get back to the paradox. We know fear doesn’t serve us when we let that vibration sit in us. Fear fuels those that which we don’t want empowered. If we analyze the deep injustices present it’s hard to not let fear or let other lower frequency feelings stir in us. Also a sense of victim hood is understandable, but incredibly self defeating. How do you recognize the landscape and proceed in the most empowered helpful way? With the acknowledgment of what’s been done, these things will help. Know that horrible things happened, and yet we are not powerless victims.

We’re powerful sovereign beings that refuse to be further subjected to further atrocities. We won’t be manipulated any more. We won’t make life harder for others anymore. Our enemy can’t be found face to face. Our enemy has been hidden, and also resides within ourselves. If we fight anyone, argue to be right about something, or do harm of any kind, we lose ground. We don’t need to agree with others. Many don’t see from your point of view. Is it their fault? Surely not. We were all cleverly duped. All deserve compassion and understanding.

They don’t need to be shown the errors of their assumptions. It’s unlikely that will come to light in a mere conversation. Trust that eventually an awakening will occur. It’s not your job. To attempt that impossible mission will only generate friction and further suffering. Instead offer them kindness and compassion. You don’t have to agree with them. You don’t even have to disclose that your perspective differs. Just be kind. This new perspective isn’t a sacred righteous one. We realize any judgment of others is ridiculous.

You also don’t have to comply with anything that no longer serves you either. I do so quietly. If someone asks my perspective I’ll give it, but I won’t force it on anyone. I trust that the universe will awaken all when the time is right. We were only victims due to ignorance. With awareness we’re set free. With our free-will we can move forward with new intentions. We can lead by example. You can’t be the hero by becoming a villain. Focus on what new creative ways you can make the world a better place.

“Darkness isn’t bad. Darkness is just an energy frequency that needs love to return to the light.” —Shaman Durek

Have you heard ‘two wrongs don’t make a right’, or ‘kill them with kindness’. Love is our superpower. It is a blanket cure for most things. Whether we encounter darkness within us or outside of us, love is the best tool to bring to it. Here is how you can best use that tool.

  1. Exterior to You - When you encounter individuals or situations that appear dark (lower vibrational frequency), address it with acceptance, compassion, and love. If you address it with resistance (judgment or argument) it will persist (and anchor into that lower vibrational frequency). Whether it be in action or inaction, that love sent will help raise the frequency of it all. Love transmutes frequency. From dark to light.

  2. Inner Work - When we encounter memories, feelings, or thoughts within us that are dark (lower vibrational frequency) the methods and results will be the same for transmutation and healing. Address the memories, feelings, and thoughts. Hear them. Give yourself sympathy for experiencing it. Accept them. Then fill yourself and all involved with forgiveness and appreciative love for each instance. This is how you do inner healing work. You transmute what you’re carrying. It lightens your load. It unpacks your baggage. In turn you become better prepared for the next higher levels of consciousness. It also makes you light enough to be better suited to help others.

  3. Energy Healing Work - When you use your intuitive senses to feel out the energies present within a person or space, the same methods apply here as well. You can see/feel the energies. Hear their story. Hear them out until they feel a sense of relief. Feeling heard is wonderful medicine. Just like a therapist does. Then be a channel for the cosmos for the healing. Your personal energy will not be diminished. Draw the infinite healing energy from the universe through you and into the energy healing patient. It is infinite. It is love. It is abundant. All that is needed and more is there. A master will be mindful of the colors you concentrate on as you fill the lower frequency with higher frequency. The top go-to colors are white, gold, and violet. Violet transmutes. The others elevate.

So what do we do when we encounter darkness? The short answer is: we embody and use the tool of love. When it feels like darkness sets a powerful tone, know that you can always step back and change it. Shine your light my friends. Om mani padme hum.

Alex Austin

Hi, I'm Alex Austin. I am a designer and illustrator based in Austin, Texas. Originally from the land of kickflips and microchips: San Jose, California, my art school days were spent in San Francisco where I attended the San Francisco Art Institute and the Academy of Art University. I have also lived, loved, and worked in Los Angeles, New Orleans and Baton Rouge.

By day I am Art Director for the über hip startup software company People Pattern located on the East side of Austin. By night I create beautiful branding and web presence for clients through Spectacle Creative Co. owned by myself and my wonderful wife, Jayme Austin.

Prior to People Pattern, I was an award winning graphic artist for Whole Foods Market for seven years and the lead graphic designer for the flagship location / global headquarters leading a team of six artists for three years. Throughout my career I have worked with many freelance clients creating event chalk art, apparel print design, event posters, logos and paintings.

Apparel print design is a distinct passion of mine. I am strongly influenced by modern design trends, pop art, film, music and comic books.

When I'm not on the job, you can find me skateboarding, hiking and having art time with my kids, Ruby and Elvis.
